Running CCA under Citrix XenDesktop

Dear MattB and All,

We have a customer who want to use CCA under Citrix XenDesktop (virtualized Desktop), their configuration for Desktop VMs as per the following:
  1. Citrix Xen Desktop 5.5
  2. Xen server version 5.6 SP2
  3. Provisioning server 6.0
  4. Windows XP SP3 32-bit
  5. Internet Explorer 8.0
Each VM has the following specs:
  • 2 single core VCPU - current capacity configuration --> 1 physical core is mapped to 5 VCPU.
  • 3 GB RAM.
The issue we are facing is that, the machine has a lot of processes running and some are consuming CPU much. so as a result CCA hangs a lot during the processing of automation workflows, also the hosted web applications become very slow; which produce different behaviors like the following:
  1. The hosted Web applications not capturing Key strokes sent by user keyboard.
  2. The scrollbar of IE window never respond to mouse.
  3. The web page never comeback after post event (automatic via CCA or manual by agent).
So as exercise, we asked the customer to prepare 2 VMs with 2 dual core VCPU (2 sockets / 2 cores per socket), and the following summarizes the results:
  1. There is no more CPU load as it was before.
  2. after 6 hours of continuous working on CCA, the hosted web applications starts to be slow with similar behavior as 2 VCPU configuration.
We had also confirmed with the customer that CCA is working normally on physical machines running Windows 7 32-bit with no issues.

Can you please share with me if there is any successful CCA implementation worldwide that runs under Citrix XenDesktop?
if there is I need the H/w and software specs for that implementation details, will that be possible? :)

Thanks in advance

Hamza

hi hdnebat,

have you checked the memory consumption of the AgentDesktop when working with it for 6 hours? Maybe you have a memory-leak on top of your CPU-issue?

Hi Ndi,
the issue after 6 hours of continuous working is happening with one of hosted web application, not Agent desktop itself, as I mentioned before:

1.The hosted Web applications not capturing Key strokes sent by user keyboard.
2.The scrollbar of IE window never respond to mouse.
3.The web page never comeback after post event (automatic via CCA or manual by agent).

furthermore, the CPU consumption for IE at that moment is very high 30% of CPU is consumed by that IE instance specifically.

on Windows 7 physical machine no similar issue is being detected.

Hi Matt, Ndi, Hamza,

We are facing the exact issue on our CCA implementation.

Environment details

Citrix Zen App Servers
Windows server 2008 x64 bit
Internet Explorer 11

Request to guide some troubleshooting if you remember it form the above implementation.

Thanks
