How to debug an UII automation

Aug 11, 2011 at 8:47 AM

Hi all

I've created UII automation, started Agent Desktop. I now that automation dll is loaded into AgentDesktop process (using unlocker tool, I've checked locks put onto this dll, and found that agent desktop uses it). Now I need to attache to AgentDesktop process. When I select automatically attache an error is displayed that the application type is not a workflow. When I manually select native and managed code, the breakpoints are not accessible. What am I doing wrong. Or is it possible to debug??

Thanks in advance for the answers

When you configure the automation to the hosted control, verify that the path that its trying to load the automation DLL from is the same as your build path for Visual Studio. Then from Visual Studio, configure the debug action for the automation project to run an external program, in this case the IAD.

When you run the shell, it would load the right support libs and allow you to debug it.

This is explained at "Creating a Automation" section at UII development guide.
